Post-doctoral Research Position in Nanomaterials and Fabrication of Ti, Ti02 and PT Devices using AFM/STM
Seeking a highly motivated researcher to work in an emerging area of tip-directed fabrication of nanoelectronic devices using tip-oxidation of Ti. Example devices include metal-insulator-metal diodes, single electron transistors and memristors. Applicants should have a materials science, physics or device background and a PhD in a related area. The researcher will work closely with faculty in Electrical Engineering and Material Science to examine the fundamental properties of the materials used in these devices, specifically Ti-Ti02 and Ti02-Pt interfaces and also various forms of Ti0x. The researcher will translate new learning of these materials into fabricated devices and demonstrate functionality through electrical measurements. Applicants should have experience with AFM/STM and also with standard cleanroom machines and procedures, including optical lithography, sputtering, e-beam evaporation, ion-milling, reactive ion etch, etc. Experiences in characterizing materials using standard techniques, such as XPS, LEED, Auger, TEM, EELS is also desired. All areas of expertise are not needed, but a significant subset is desired. The term for the appointment is 1 year with the salary of k$45/year. Extensions possible pending performance and funding.

The Department of Radiology at Brigham & Women's Hospital (BWH) and Harvard Medical School (HMS) in Boston, MA, USA has an opening for a qualified individual at the post-doctoral level to work on research related to nuclear medicine (SPECT and/or PET) imaging physics. Applicants should have obtained, or be nearing completion of, a Ph.D. in physics, medical physics, biomedical or electrical engineering, or a related field. The successful candidate is expected to be appointed for a two-year period.
